Silver Bars are early game metal bars, used mainly to create the Silver tier of equipment. It can also be placed on the ground, like furniture. Crafting all items (excluding Bullets) requires 151 /159 Silver Bars; this translates to 604 /636 Silver Ore. The Platinum Coin is the tallest and widest coin its dimensions are 14×16, Gold Coins dimensions are 12×16, Silver Coins dimensions are 12×14 and Copper Coins dimensions are 12×12 being the smallest. Coins can be sold on the Wii U and Xbox editions. Doing so will do nothing, however. A Platinum Coin is worth 1,000,000 Copper Coins. Platinum armor is a stronger alternative to Gold armor. It takes a total of 90 Platinum Bars to craft a full suit. This adds up to 360 Platinum Ore for the full set of Platinum Armor. It consists of a Platinum Helmet, Platinum Chainmail and Platinum Greaves . A full set grants a basic 16 defense plus a set bonus of 4 defense, A Platinum Coin is made when you have a pile of 100 Gold Coins. Similar to how a Gold Coin is made from 100 Silver Coins. As far as I know, Platinum Coins cannot be 'found' as Gold Coins can be found in chests and such. 1 - Copper Ore / Tin Ore 2 - Iron Ore / Lead Ore 3 - Silver Ore / Tungsten Ore 4 - Gold Ore / Platinum Ore 5 - Meteorite 6 - Demonite Ore / Crimtane Ore 7 ? - Obsidian (Position questionable, but needed before getting to hell) 8 - Hellstone 9 - Co If you have a chance to compare platinum and silver side-to-side, it's easy to distinguish the differences between them. Platinum is much denser than silver, so it will have more heft to it. Also, platinum isn't really white—it's actually a gray color. So I don't know if this is a repost, and I am way late on this. But I recently picked up terraria again, and I remembered an awesome trick for getting gold/platinum. I cant give credit, because I cant seem to find the source. 1. Change one platinum/gold coin for 100 gold/silver pieces. 2. Hold shift and click on the 100 stack.

Platinum vs Silver Both platinum and silver have been used since ancient times, dating back to over 3000 BC. Platinum is a rare metal and does not corrode, discolor or fade with time. Today most platinum is produced in South Africa, with the global annual output of platinum being one 100 times less than that of silver. Using the Extractinator: Farming Silt and Slush. With an Extractinator, you can convert Silt and Slush into any number of useful materials. While completely random, you will commonly receive coins, jewels and ore. Before creating my off-world mines, this was a stable source for silver, gold and platinum. In real life, platinum has many uses, but is typically known for being even rarer than gold. This was embedded in the original role-playing game Dungeons and Dragons (featuring copper, silver, gold, and platinum coins), and has since become a gaming trope in its own right, which is continued by Terraria's coin system. Silver or Tungsten; Gold or Platinum; Demonite or Crimtane; Demonite and Crimtane are rarely generated, so that's why The Eater of Worlds and the The Brain of Ctulhu drops them in large quantities. Hardmode Ores are generated by destroying Demon Altars with a Pwnhammer. You can obtain this hammer by killing the Wall of Flesh, activating Hardmode.
