Factorio light oil heavy oil

In 0.12.35 I use 3 combinators: 2 deciders, 1 arithmetic to make an 'and'-gate condition for when to crack. For heavy oil, I will crack to light if my heavy oil storage is at least 20% full, and my light oil storage is less than 80% full.

Changed basic oil processing to remove light oil (so yes, still makes heavy oil and petroleum gas) and increased pollution (to represent the lost light oil being sent up the refinery's flare stack). The concept here, I believe, is to try to simplify the production of 3 fluids to just 2, simplifying the challenge a bit, while also retaining the Crude oil is a liquid extracted by pumpjacks from oil fields and can be converted to petroleum gas, light oil, and heavy oil by an oil refinery. It can be transported either in pipes, barrels or fluid wagons. It can also be used as ammo in flamethrower turrets. In 0.12.35 I use 3 combinators: 2 deciders, 1 arithmetic to make an 'and'-gate condition for when to crack. For heavy oil, I will crack to light if my heavy oil storage is at least 20% full, and my light oil storage is less than 80% full. Lubricant is a fluid converted from heavy oil in a chemical plant. Like other fluids, it may be barreled . It is used in the production of express transport belts (blue belts) and their counterpart underground belts and splitters. It is also used to create electric engine units . Heavy oil has a much worse ratio (20:1) and should be cracked into light oil first instead. The cracking process changes the ratio for heavy oil to 13:1, which is much better. Petroleum gas also has a bad 20:1 ratio and should not be used to create solid fuel in most cases. However, full tanks of heavy oil, For the early game you pretty much have to store it, Heavy oil to lubricant, but i dont remember what to use light oil for. A bit later on, you'll get a new research that lets you "Crack" heavy oil into light oil, and light oil into etrol, letting you use those stores up for something.

Whit Advanced Oiltech you can transform heavy Oil into light oil and lightoil + water into petroleum so if you only need petroleum you can use this but also later you need trains and i use for them the fuelblocks.

Solid fuel can also be  16 Sep 2019 Light oil is a liquid converted from crude oil (in a oil refinery) or heavy oil (in a chemical plant). 16 May 2019 Outpost only for light and heavy oil don't work, because there will be allways petrolium which isn't used. What can I do, hwo do you do it? best regards raidi. 32   The Basic Oil Processing recipe produces Petroleum, Light Oil, and Heavy Oil. That is how you get Petroleum, and you will also have to do something with the  Oil products. Products made from refining oil. Heavy oil is a liquid produced by refining crude oil in an oil refinery. It can be processed into light oil and lubricant. Solid fuel can also be created from heavy oil. It is more efficient to process heavy oil into light oil before creating solid fuel from it. For producing petroleum gas, the optimal advanced oil processing ratio is 20:5:17 (advanced oil processing : heavy oil cracking : light oil cracking), and 8:2:7 is close enough. Using coal liquefaction, the ratio is 60:39:55 (coal liquefaction : heavy oil cracking : light oil cracking), and 12:8:11 is close enough. Here is the perfect ratio design for no stall transforming every type of oil into pretroleum. The tank for heavy oil is there only to force making lubricant untill I have 500 otherwise it goes into craking into light oil. Here is the perfect ratio design for no stall transforming every type of oil into pretroleum. Red wire for the copper cost of current chemical science packs--while hinting to solve Advanced Oil Processing; Heavy to Light cracking is unlocked with Basic Oil Processing, but optional to use (as a hint) By default: Light to Gas cracking is unlocked with Basic Oil Processing for further pursuit of oil if delaying Advanced Oil Processing research

Wiki says light oil gives +5% damage comparing to heavy oil. I think 1/20 difference is negligible. Just look at this proportion: ooooooooooooooooooox. Compare “x” to “o”. It is not worth to bother, use any of them and boost Refined flammables research. I use crude oil, and I'm happy.
