I thought I read somewhere that the majority of guys were contracted to WCW, but the actual guys that made money were contracted to AOL/time warner like Nash, Hogan, Flair etc. Which would make sense from a financial standpoint as it keeps your balance sheet looking good if your top paid stars are actually being paid by someone else DDP/Booker negotiated a buyout with AOL/Time Warner. Both were reported to be bought out for less than half of the overall contract just so they could be free and go to the wwf. Guys like Nash sat out there deals and made all there money.
